Did anyone see the premier of the new series "Kings" on Sunday night?  I missed it but heard it was pretty good.  I'm going to watch it tonight on Hulu.

Not much to report on here.  Lizzy (my car) is running great and getting great mileage.....now that I don't have to use the heater.  The weather is absolutely wonderful.  Monday it was 69, today 55, but that's ok.  I hope we are done with the snow and cold.  But, you never know in SD.  March is usually our snowiest month.  We'll see.

I emailed some of you about my phone problems.  I may be just using my cell or going to an internet service.  For now, if you need to reach me just use my cell #.  I always have it with me.  The only time I don't answer is if I'm in church or at Bible study.  I'll update later when I make a decision.

That's it for now.  Take care all and God bless!

So, I sent some of you an email that, as it turns out, may be offensive.  That was not my intention in sending it.  My reason for sending it was to make you think about how things in this world have changed.  Many of you have not live long enough to remember what it was like in the 50's and 60's, but I remember clearly.  I only want you to think about how the more things change.....the more they stay the same.  Racism has existed since almost the beginning of time and will continue to exist...whether you think so or not.  It's human nature to fear the unknown and thus react in a less than good way.  The tables have turned in the racism realm and I wanted you to see that.  The only thing that has changed are the "objects" of said racism.

So, if I have offended any of you, please accept my deepest apology.  I hope you all know me well enough that you know that I believe that all human beings are created by the same God and thus are all equal....no better....no worse than each other.  Many of you don't believe the way I do, but this is what I live by.....Jesus said, "Love your neighbor as you love yourself."  I love myself and, therefore, I love others as well.....as creations of my Father.  We are all brothers and sisters.

So, there you have it.  If you are still offended, I'm sorry.

Well, I just went to see the movie "Fireproof".  I would highly recommend it to everyone.  It is about relationships and is not what I would call a "chick flick".  It also makes one realize just a little bit of what our "first responders" experience as a result of the work they do.  I went with 4 other people....2 of whom are married.  He is about 60.  I asked him for a male perspective.  He said it is definitely not too mushy or emotional.  In fact, he said it was like looking in the mirror at himself.  That was exactly what I was thinking about myself.  Isn't it funny how a movie can make us see ourselves in the characters.  I wish I had known some of these "tips"  before my marriage ended.   If you go see it, let me know.  I'd like to hear what you think.

This coming Friday and Saturday I will be going to Minneapolis to a "Women of Faith" conference.  I will have my cell with me.  Just leave a message and I will call back.  I'll have to turn it off during the conference.  I'm  really excited about going.  Judy is going with me.  What fun we will have.......I can't wait!!!!!

All in all, things have been going pretty good here.  "Lizzie" (my car) is still running good and gas prices are coming down.  I'm still busy with the usual and have been pretty slack in my housework.  I hope to change that this week.  Anyway, that's it for now.  Take care all and God bless!

I didn't get to see Walid Shoebat last Friday night cause I came down with a migraine.  Bummer!  A friend of mine went and filled me in though.  Some of what was said I did not agree with and some I did.  I even heard that there were some protestors trying to keep him from speaking.  Anything controversial and "they" come out of the woodwork, don't they.

Most of you know that Judy is in the hospital with pneumonia......she is still there today.  Maybe will get to go home tomorrow.  They got the tests back and its a bacterial pneumonia and they are treating it with antibiotics and steriods.  As you may or may not know, steriods really mess with sugar levels in diabetics.  She is no exception.  Her level went as high as 495 today.  However, her endocrinologist is treating her for that and her levels are coming down.  She says she feels better......just worn out and tired.

I am doing great.  I bought a new book by an evanglist that I like.....Perry Stone.....The Meal that Heals.  I've been curious about the subject for a while now.  This should help me understand communion better.

I guess that's all for now.  I'll post again when I have something to post.  Take care all and God bless!

Well, I went to  see a speaker last night at Augustana's Elmen Center.  His name is Walid Shoebat and is a former Islamic PLO terrorist.  He spoke about his involvement in the organization and the things he did in the name of his faith and also about how he came to learn that he had been deceived for many years.  His mother is American and his father is Muslim from Israel.  After they were married, his father took her to Israel to live and unbeknown to her, she would not be allowed to return to the US for 35 years.  She was held captive there, was abused physically and emotionally and was treated like she was less than a human being.  Walid's grandfather worked with Hitler to irradicate the Jews.  Walid himself killed many Jews in the name of Allah believing that if he was martyred, he would go to heaven.  He later learned that he was wrong.  He answered one major question I've had about Muslims....that is....is there a difference between radical and fundamental Muslims?   The answer is a resounding "NO".  If a person is a Muslim and believes in allah and the Quran then they are a very real danger, wherever they are.  Their goal is to kill all the Jews and take over as much of the world as they can.  He was even trained in the US.  He was born in Israel.  Tonight, he will be speaking about Islam and Bible Prophecy.  I'm anxious to hear what he has to say.  I already know what I believe about the subject, but I want to hear what he has to say.

If you are curious about him, you can Google his name.  You will find a lot of conflicting information about him.  The Muslims believe that if you leave the Muslim faith, you must be killed.  And, so, they are trying to discredit him and to kill him.  He has to move about every year or so.  If you did a really in depth search about him, you would find his history is true.  He believes Obama is a Muslim and if we could see his birth certificate, it would say that as well.  HMMMM!  I'll post more after I hear him speak tonight.  Till then, have a wonderful day!

Well, it's Labor Day and the unofficial end to summer.  Also, another Life Light Festival has come and gone.  What an awesome weekend!  Saturday night at Michael W. Smith's concert, it is reported there were over 120K people there.  What a wondrous time it was!  I have never seen soooooooo many people in one place before.....let alone so many people with the same purpose in mind......to worship our God!  And worship we did!!!!!!!  And pray we did!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  God answered our prayers cause Gustav lost steam and veered away from New Orleans!  Sunday night was Casting Crowns and again.....what an awesome time!  We also saw David Nasser, Phil Joel, Natalie Grant and Leeland.  It's a good thing this only happens once a year cause the power of the Holy Spirit and intensity of energy is incredible.  I need a week just to rest and unwind and absorb all that I experienced.

Now, it's time to experience the changing of the seasons and slow down from a busy summer!  I welcome a slower pace after the busyness of summer.  I have nothing firm planned in the near future except my usual Bible studies and visiting friends and family.  So, if any of you are around and want to stop by, give me a call.....I'd love to spend some time with you.

That's it for now.  Take care all and remember.....I love you all!

Well, I want to thank all of you for the good thoughts and prayers for my sister.  She went home from the hospital today.  She is still in a lot of pain but is on the mend.  I know we've all heard it before, but this should be a lesson to us.  We need to live each day as if it were our last because we don't know what the next few moments will bring.  I received a message this morning that a very dear friend of mine lost her brother last night.  He had been ill for a long time and finally gave up the fight last night.  So, please.....be sure to let those that you love know that you love them and don't be afraid to give hugs and affection generously.  Ok, enough of the lecture.  I am well and doing great and I hope all of you are too.  Take care and keep in touch.  God bless!

Ok, my sister is being admitted to the hospital.  She has a cracked sternum.  They are also doing a cat scan to see if her heart or lungs were bruised in the impact.  She is in a lot of pain (obviously) and they have her on IV pain meds.  She was driving Patty's mini van and it was totalled.  So, now Patty will need a new vehicle.  Yes, she has full coverage.  Gordon was supposed to go to FL tomorrow to receive a national award from the Civil Air Patrol but may not be going now.  The police say Gini ran a red light but she swears it was green...???  She says she remembers the accident.  Anyway, as it stands now, she will be in the hospital a couple of days and then go home.  So, please continue to pray for her and her family.  I'll update again if anything changes.  Thanks to all of you.  God bless and I love you all!

I just got a call from my niece, Patty.  My sister, Gini, was in a bad car accident this morning in Denver.  The car was totalled.  Patty was on her way to the hospital so she didn't know anything about Gini yet.  She did say she could hear her crying in the background when the call came.....that's a good thing.  That's all she knew when she called.  Please, please, everyone.....pray for Gini and her family.  I'll post more when I here something.  Thanks and God bless you all.

Well, the family reunion was a big success.  It was soooooo great to see everyone again.  Aunt Dee is the only one left of the aunts and uncles so she is the matriarch now.....she will be 80 in Nov.  We honored her and gave her a scrapbook where we all wrote something to her.  We took loads of pictures and are going to put a bunch in the book for her.  Judy's brother also took video and is going to make copies for everyone.  We all decided that we are going to get together every 5 years for a reunion.

Judy had her surger yesterday on her hand.  She did great!  Of course, she is having pain but that is to be expected.  It's her right hand so she will be needing help with the basics and her insulin shots but I think we've got that worked out between her kids and me.  Her brother and sister-in-law left to go back to Indy yesterday.  So, now we have peace and quiet again.  Things can get back to normal around here.  What a crazy and hectic month it has been.  But, I loved every minute of it!  Famly and friends are soooooo  important to me and I love spending time with everyone.

So, now it's back to my regular routine of seeing Ducky and Judy and teaching our Bible studies.  I have really missed that.  Oh, I almost forgot.  I went over to Aunt Dee's this week and she taught me how to make her homemade apple pie.
It was so easy!  I have always loved her pie and now I know how to make it.  As soon as the weather cools down a bit, I'm g oing to try making one on my own.  I hope it turns out as good as it did this week.  I already ate the one I made this week......yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmy!

Well, I have to get my laundry done and then go over to help Judy.  For those of you who pray, please say a prayer for a speedy and easy recovery for her.  Take care all, I love you and God bless!

So, we left Aurora, CO yesterday at 4:00 p.m. and arrived back home at 7:00 a.m. this morn.  I have been up for over 24 hours!   I haven't done that in......well, I can't remember the last time.  We hit REALLY, REALLY bad storms just outside of Aurora and didn't get out of them till a little east of N. Platte, NE.  We had everything from heavy rain to incredibly strong winds, lightning, thunder and hail.  But, no tornados....at least as far as I know.  The fastest we were able to drive was 35 to 40 mph that whole time.  Needless to say, that's why it took us so long to get home.

Anyway, I had a wonderful time with my sister and her family and my dad and step mom.  We went to the outlet mall and I was very frugal....thank you very much!  We also went back to the place you see in my userpic.  It's just outside of Breckinridge, CO.  I took more pics but have to wait for Gordon to email them to me (long story).  I think that is my most favorite-ist place in the mountains.  Sooooooo beautiful....I could've stayed there all day!  Thursday night we went to Olive Garden for supper and it stormed while we were there.  When we came out, there was an absolutely brilliant double rainbow just waiting for us to come out and oogle over it (ooohhh, aahhhh).  I didn't have the camera or I would've taken pics.

Tomorrow, we have our family reunion and I am really excited to see everyone.  It's gonna be great!  Well, I have to go get some sleep before I fall out of my chair.  I'll post more later.  Take care, I love you all and God bless!

Ahhhhhh, I do love Denver.  I arrived safe and sound Sunday night.  We haven't really done anything yet cause Gini has to work.  But, it's sooooo good to be here!  We plan on going to the Outlet Mall in Castle Rock on Friday........gotta watch the finances.  I get way too tempted in that place.  Oh well!  And we'll be going in to the mountains next week.  I will be returning home on the 25th or so.  I am going to drive my dad and step mom back and they will stay with me for a while (maybe 2 weeks) and then, Judy and I will drive them back to Denver.  Then, they will head back to AZ from here.  Over Labor Day, Gini and Patti will drive me and Judy back home.  What a busy month I have coming up!

For those of you who believe in God and pray.....please, please pray for my great nephew...Nathan.  He has cyctic fibrosis.  He is pretty sick right now and coughing up blood.  He is only 15...which is actually good for a person with CF.  The whole family is stressed and worried about Nathan.  Please pray!

Everyone else here is doing great.  It's pretty hot...in the upper 90's but the nights cool off so nicely.  I open my bedroom window.  Every morning and evening I can hear a mourning dove crying for it's mate.  Such a sad, yet beautiful sound.
Last night I got in the hot tub.  Wow, that was great!  Wish I had one at home.

That's it for now.  Take care all, be well and safe.  I love you all!

Jon said I should post more....so .....here goes.  It was HOT yesterday..98.  And, now, it's 65.  A cool front came through.  I love cool, dry mornings.  I have the windows open and the breeze is making the curtains flow out.  I feel refreshed.  I hate having the air conditioner on.  I don't like things all cosed up...even in the winter.

Anyway, I'm on my way to Denver tomorrow.  I'm sooooo excited.  I can't wait to see everyone (dad and Donna are there too) and I also can't wait to see those magnificent mountains!  God's handiwork!  I'll miss everyone here and my Bible studies of course, but I am so drawn to that place.  Maybe, one day, God will lead me to move out there.  For those of you that know me...you can reach me on my cell or at Gini's.  I'll email the phone #'s later.

Today, we are celebrating little CJ's first birthday (Natalie's son).  I can't believe he is a year old already.  He is sooo cute and walking now.

Well, I think that's all for now.  Any comments, questions?  I updated my bio and interests too for those of you who might be interested.  Take care all, be well and God bless!  I love you all!

I have always had bad teeth.  Thank goodness Jon has his dad's teeth.  I have spent many an hour sitting in the dentist's chair and, as with most people, it is NOT my idea of a good time!  Last time I went was last year in April and I had 3 cavities and had to have a tooth pulled.  I've NEVER had a check up with no cavities.....UNTIL NOW!  I am sooooo pleased  that I could just giggle.  Please, please, please everyone.....take good care of your teeth.  Some of you know why I say this....some of you don't.  Take my word for it.....toothaches are painful and getting them fixed is no fun either.

I don't understand why teenagers think it's fun to destroy other people's property.  Last night my neighbor banged on my door and told me 2 kids were seen running and laughing through our parking lot and some  of the cars had been damaged and mine was one of them.  Needless to say, I went right outside and discovered that 3 of my tires had been slashed.  I called the police and they came and took a report and said that upwards of 20-50 cars had been hit in this neighborhood.  So, my car wasn't the only one.  A couple of people were able to describe them somewhat and what they were wearing but only God knows if they will ever be caught.  So, if any of you happen to be in my neighborhood or come over to see me, be sure to park under a light.  I am a member of AAA so at least I didn't have to pay to have my car towed.  But, I still had to put out $255 for 4 new tires.  At least I now have an extra tire for a spare......besides that donut thing.

Well, Christmas is over for another year.  But, the feeling of Christmas will remain with me every day throughout the coming year, till next Christmas.  Having my loved ones and dear friends around me this year has made for such wonderful memories.  Thank you all for your part and for spending time here.  The true meaning of Christmas is, of course, love and I certainly felt that from each of you.  I hope you felt it from me!  The icing on the cake, so to speak, was the beautiful snowfall yesterday.  Even though it made for slippery driving, it made me feel like I was in a Courier and Ives postcard.  Beautiful!

I probably won't post a lot here, but I wanted to test this out and play with it a little.
